Sin Doesn’t Separate You

Have you felt disconnected or distant from God? Maybe you just got busy. Or, maybe something disappointing happened and you got mad at Him. I’ve been there too. It’s not a good feeling to feel disconnected from God.

We’ve heard that sin separates us from. I mean, I’ve sung those songs. Saw the chasm that separated Him from me. But, does it really?

Let’s take a look at what the scriptures reveal. How did God react when Adam and Eve sinned? He didn’t banish them right then and there. He actually pursued them in Genesis 3:8-9 ‘When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees. They the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” . Not only that, when they realized they were naked and felt shame - He clothed and covered their shame (Genesis 3:21). Did their sin repel them from God that He ran away from them?

If sin separated Eve from God, then why did God co-create with Eve ‘…With the Lord’s help, I have produced a man!” (Genesis 4:1)

Here are more scriptures of people who have had the Spirit with them:

Numbers 27:18 NLT “The Lord replied, "‘Take Joshua son of Nun, who has the Spirit in him, and lay your hands on him.

Exodus 31:2 NLT ‘I have filled him (Bezalel) with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts.

Judges 3:10 NKVJ ‘I have filled him (Othniel) with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts.

Judges 6:34 NKJV ‘And the Spirit of the Lord began to move upon him (Gideon) at Mahaneh Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol.’

Romans 8:38-39 “For I am convinced that neither death no life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, no any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

I share this not as a license to go out a sin. LOL! But, so that you would know nothing can separate you - except our own choices. It’s time to let go of that lie and run to God who is waiting for you with open arms.
